The Failers

Hoosier roots rockers The Failers have been turning out big hooks and loud guitars since 2013. The Indianapolis-based quartet has spent more than a decade crafting a sound and songs that run along the periphery of Americana.  Inspired by genre-defying artists like Elvis Costello and Neil Young, The Failers build their songs organically, following whatever path they take them down, without forcing the music to adhere to a specific label. This creative freeness has allowed the band to build a large catalog of songs that cover a lot of ground, but are unmistakably The Failers.

The Failers cite several influences in their music: Son Volt, Elvis Costello, Neil Young, The Jayhawks, Wilco, to name a few. Their songs are three-minute short stories, filled with dire situations, desperate characters and unreliable narrators. The songs are held together by undeniable hooks, buoyed by a propulsive rhythm section, and colored by finely-crafted lead guitar. Played live, the songs breathe differently, driven by an energy that only comes from performing on stage. The Failers embrace the reckless spirit of live rock n roll, and thrive on it.

The Failers have released three EPs: All The Dirt And All The Doubt; Looking For A Way Out; and 2020's Slacks. They have also released one full-length album: Think You're A Drag. The band is set to release a new album in 2025, date TBA. Two songs off of Slacks - Song 9, and Martha - have received radio play in Indianapolis and Chicago. In 2022, The Failers were invited to participate in “Exile On Meridian St', a tribute to the Rolling Stones classic ”Exile On Main Street". The band's cover of “Torn And Frayed” received airplay on WTTS, and has been viewed over 1,000 times on YouTube.
